Magnet magazine is currently a Methodist magazine, owned and supported administratively by the Methodist Church. Magnet is produced by volunteers from around Britain who meet four times a year to plan the editorial content, policies and development of the magazine. Two groups of volunteers work collaboratively on the editorial and management responsibilities.

Magnet magazine has existed since 1987. It was originally the main resource of the Women's Network of the Methodist Church, but has grown to provide resources and interest for all Christian people. It is no longer a magazine produced by and for women, but is seeking to become an ecumenical publication for all Christian people.

We hope that Magnet will be shared more widely and that its strengths will continue.

It will keep:

• its colourful meditation pages;
• items supporting our spiritual life, including worship material and ideas for groups;
• its mission, action and justice focus;
• its collaborative way of working with volunteers recruited from different Christian backgrounds;
• its ethos of ‘social holiness’.
